The playing field has been previously used for football matches, outdoor play and the site was previously used for the culmination of the Wheelock May Day Parade where the whole field was used to hold events and stalls that used to bring Wheelock together.

Recently identified as under used *2015, the area was considered for alternative activities. Sandbach Town Council asked local residents what activities could be considered. After two public meetings, one of the activities, dedicated to turn half of the site over to allotment use was dismissed. It is now our time to show that the field can be put to good use for the benefit of the whole community.
